Philip G. Cabaud III :: CPA , President

Philip G. Cabaud is President of Mid-Continent General Agency and Managing Director of Healthcare for Myron Steves. He is also on the board of directors for Financial Casualty & Surety, a Myron Steves company. Phil joined Myron Steves in 1999 as Associate Director of Mid-Continent, where he was in charge of underwriting and insurance company operations until he was promoted in 2001. He has also served Myron Steves as interim Chief Financial Officer. In 2003, Phil founded Healthcare Providers Insurance Company in cooperation with the Mississippi Hospital Association (MHA), a company that writes hospital and physicians professional liability insurance for MHA members. In 2004, he formed a captive insurance company for the locum tenens industry in the Cayman Islands. Phil's insurance experience prior to joining Myron Steves includes underwriting medical professional liability insurance, directors and officers liability insurance, managed care errors and omissions insurance as well as the lead underwriter and developer of a line of medical professional liability products. Phil has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Delaware, and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
Lawrence M. Keefe :: Senior Vice President

Larry joined Myron Steves in October 2001 as National Sales Manager of the Healthcare Division. In December 2003, he was promoted to Associate Director of Operations for the Healthcare Division, Mid-Continent General Agency and Health Providers Insurance Company. In this position, Larry is responsible for administrative, service and marketing functions for these entities. Prior to joining Myron Steves, Larry had over 21 years experience in agency management and sales. He spent 3 years as Vice President for a national medical malpractice insurance company where he was responsible for their national physician operation and captive agency. Larry received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts and is a member of the Greater Houston Society of Healthcare Risk Management.
Jay V. Alston :: Vice President

Jay Alston is Vice President with Mid-Continent General Agency in Dallas, Texas, responsible for the Miscellaneous E&O and Employment Practices Liability programs. Mid-Continent General Agency is a managing general underwriter and program manager with binding authority to underwrite professional liability programs throughout the United States and Canada for various insurance companies.
Jay graduated from the University of Arizona in May 1992 with dual degrees in Communication and Film. He worked several jobs in the insurance industry. His first experience was at a life and health agency while still in high school. In college, he worked as a data manager at a financial services firm. After graduating, Jay moved to Texas and worked at an insurance recovery adjustment firm. Subsequently, in 1996, he joined U.S. Risk Underwriters. In 10 years at U.S. Risk he advanced from technical assistant to management. The last five years of his tenure were spent as Vice President of the Professional Programs Division specializing in Miscellaneous E&O and Employment Practices Liability insurance. He managed several in-house underwriting binding authority programs through Lloyd’s of London and several domestic carriers. In February 2006 he was asked to join Mid-Continent General Agency to start a professional liability division. The division has quickly grown and has become an integral part of the overall Mid-Continent operation.
CAROLYN BROCHU :: Product Manager

Carolyn joined Myron Steves in November 2001. After working briefly in Human Resources and Accounting, she was accepted to take part in the Myron Steves internship program. In March 2004 she accepted a position with Mid-Continent General Agency as a trainee underwriter, and was promoted to underwriter in July 2005. In January 2007, she was promoted to product manager of the allied healthcare, long term care and social services programs. Prior to joining Myron Steves, Carolyn graduated with honors from the University of Warwick in England where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business.
